About Santa Marta
Santa Marta was the home of the famous political leader, Simon Bolivar, “The Liberator”. Founded in 1525, it is considered the oldest city in Colombia.
It was also the homeland of one of Colombia’s largest tribes, the “Wayús”, who imposed themselves during the Spanish colonization. Steeped in this history, it is blessed with exceptional beaches, a vibrant nightlife and invites to visit the Tayrona National Park, a protected natural sanctuary with some of the most incredible flora and fauna in South America.
