It would seem that Lisbon has become one of the most pleasant capitals to live in. With a mild and temperate climate, it is an easy city to visit at any time of the year. Stroll through the old streets, discover St George’s Castle and the old Alfama district where, in the evening, Fado, the traditional local music with nostalgic lyrics, is played. The Terreiro do Paço square, symbol of the city rebuilt after the great earthquake of 1755, is often lively and worth a visit, facing the beautiful Tage. The Hieronymites monastery is also a must, this white gothic building facing the famous Belem Tower stands out over the city as an architectural treasure. Right next door, you must taste the famous pasteis de Belem, a pastry whose recipe is treasured by the Lisbon people… Finally, to go from the Baixa to the Alta neighborhoods, passing through the charming parts of Lisbon, two great means of transport are available to travelers: the tramway and the funicular!
