About Jericoacoara
Located about 300 km from the capital Fortaleza, “Jeri” is known for its beaches – considered among the most beautiful in the world – its crystal clear lagoons and the sand dunes. Until the end of the 20th century, it was a simple isolated fishing village. There were no roads, no electricity, and money was rarely used.
In 1984, the “Washington Post Magazine” elected Jeri as one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in the world. Since then, the surrounding area has become a protected National Park.
Today, the town is very popular among surfers who come from all over the world to enjoy the ideal weather conditions, the good restaurants and a lively nightlife. But of course, the untouched natural landscape and the relaxed atmosphere still prevail!
